Presidents July Update
Vol 2 Issue 6 - June 5, 2010
Greetings All
I just heard from Doug Brunton – we are now truly “Coast to Coast” – we now have a NATO Veterans Org Unit in Newfoundland – welcome Jim King! We are now finishing our first six months and are finishing off the last minute time- consuming steps – but necessary steps to say “we are established”. There is the Draft Constitution out for your comments – we are now working with a lawyer so we are properly incorporated and busy establishing and solidifying our contacts in the rest of Canada – so we are a truly national veteran’s organization. Our NATO Vet Adjutant Cal Belamy is spending with Betty Goodison hours every day on the necessary administrative matters.
Now we have the challenge of how to hold an AGM using the existing Constitution. It is difficult to hold a meeting under the existing old Constitution of everyone in Fredericton when we have over 1000 members coast to coast. Our Regional coordinator Doug Brunton along with Gerry Bryan is trying to figure out a way to conduct AGM and will be contacting all Directors for suggestions.
We realize this is the summer period and “things will slow down” .But we can’t let things slow down too much. For the AGM in Oct we really have to begin now to first of all figure out how ....so please keep at it. We continue to grow and our next step – after the items above –is recruiting! We aim for 2000 members as a minimum by the end of the year or early next year before “we take on any more” :>)
I plan on a Quarterly Conference Call the end of June to bring you up-to-date and get your feedback
