Veterans Appreciation Day
November 1, 2012 - Billings Bridge Centre in Ottawa
The display table at Billings Bridge Shopping Plaza on Veterans’ Appreciation Day – a joint event with Veterans Affairs. The table was manned by Vern Williamson, Gord Jenkins and John Coulombe . The display items consisted mainly of sports crests etc which Vern had been awarded during his tour(s) in Germany. There were also some very interesting picture books showing the area of Germany where Canadians were stationed (Lahr). Finally 3 - .50 cal drill rounds drew much interest and curiosity from the school children.
