NVOC membership eligibility

Posted May 24, 2011

Our organization is entering into a very important phase, that is Advocating on behalf of our veterans so that we may hopefully receive the benefits which we deserve.

The message which NVOC has been directing to Veterans Affairs Canada is that “Post Korean to Current Day Veterans and those still serving have been forgotten or are being treated differently from WWII and Korean War Veterans.” Our stance is that A Veteran is a Veteran. This philosophy has a direct impact on our approach to membership and recruitment

From now on membership eligibility will be as follows:

The NATO Veterans Organization of Canada is now open to all members of the Canadian Armed Forces who have served after the formation of NATO.(Apr 04,1949)

Presently serving members are eligible.

Although we will be advocating primarily on behalf of veterans from post Korea to the present we welcome Korean Veterans who wish to join and will assist these veterans as needs arise.

This approach, we believe, has the potential to increase our membership dramatically. We hope that you will be able to take advantage of this new approach to membership eligibility in your units, contact areas, and regions. We are in the process of developing new brochures and will get these out to you when they become available.

Gord Jenkins President
